It’s day four for Occupy Toronto.

The protesters have literally set up camp in St. James Park at King and Jarvis streets since Saturday.

The activists have not come to a consensus on what their larger message is, but the protest is based on opposition to global economic inequality, activists say.

By midafternoon on Tuesday some of the protesters began a march back to the financial district of Bay and King.

The protests began in New York with Occupy Wall Street last month and have since spread to Calgary, Edmonton, Ottawa, Montreal, and Vancouver.

Reporters Cathleen Finlay and Samar Ismail have the story.

In the end, only one protester 'occupied' Bay Street  for the duration Monday.

Occupy Bay Street was expected to bring a large crowd, but only about 20 to 30 people made brief appearances Monday before leaving organizer Peter Poulos on his own.

Poulos hit the pavement at 7:00 a.m. to start his protest holding a sign that read ‘everyone deserves their fair share.’

He told dailyplanet.com he will continue walking up and down the financial district every morning.

Daily Planet reporters Justin Millerson and Melesa Narain cover the story from outside the Toronto Stock Exchange Monday.

Occupy Toronto protesters gathered at Ryerson University for a demonstration Monday despite a fizzled showing for the protest in Toronto's financial district.

More than 200 demonstrators marched from the base camp of St. James Park to the university to rally with students as a part of their Social Justice Week today.

This came after a much smaller protest organized by a group called Occupy Bay Street dispersed earlier in the day.

Organizers and demonstrators say they are not only protesting against corporate greed  but for social equity.
