by Floridatoday.com The recent Journolist.com revelation is evidence of what many Americans have thought for a long time…that our nation’s mainstream media has lost its professional journalistic ethos and decayed into nothing more than a national alliance of progressive marketeering professionals.
The evidence of this decline has been present, yet amorphous, in most Americans’ minds. I believe an analysis of the US press corps’ coverage (or lack thereof) of some of our current progressive President’s actions as compared to our last, progressive but less so, President’s actions is more defining evidence.For example, would the press coverage have been different (i.e. more than a sound bite or buried in a small article deep in a paper) if it had been President Bush, rather than President Obama, who had:1. Failed to send timely relief aid to flood victims throughout the Midwest where more people were killed or made homeless than in New Orleans? 2. |
