On the Swiss Chalet side of things (a sit-down restaurant), Kruger will replace two cabinets full of police paraphernalia with knick-knacks from Canada, the United States, Germany, France, Russia, Italy, Japan and the United Kingdom. “I’ve had a lot of nice compliments,” he says. “We’ve had quite a few of the G8 support teams coming in already to eat.” A retired OPP detective-inspector, Kruger finds the G8 security preparations fascinating.
